Summary: This item presents for information and discussion, the Workforce Development, Aging and Community Services strategy to engage, support, and grow businesses in the County Workforce Development Area. Discussion includes identification of targeted sectors, leveraging services provided Countywide, including those offered by the Department of Public Social Services, the Department of Consumer and Business Affairs, the Community Development Commission, the Department of Regional Planning, Public Works, and others. Further, the Department will discuss use of its network of Business Services Representatives, data management tools, labor market information, and business intelligence data to drive a data-driven economic development strategy.
