Title: THE WDB INNOVATION FUND PROPOSED FUNDING OF $150K FOR BIOPHARMACEUTICAL MANUFACTURING PRE-APPRENTICESHIP/APPRENTICESHIP PILOT PROJECT Presenter: Martha Molina-Aviles, Program Manager, WDB Summary: This item presents for review and approval, and any other action deemed necessary, the WDB Innovation Fund proposed funding of $150,000 from the Innovation Fund to set up a pre-apprenticeship/apprenticeship pilot in the Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing sector. WDACS will work with SouthBay Workforce Development Board to identify and secure employers, industry association(s), education, and Economic & Workforce Development partners to pilot an industry recognized apprenticeship program that leads to employment in the Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing sector. The $150K in Innovation Funds will augment other County funds and will be used for qualifying expenditures, i.e. training costs that directly support participants involved in this program.
